Four performance domains, and the largest is Evidence-Based Treatment, Counseling and Referral at 30 percent. Professional, Ethical and Legal Responsibilities and Scientific Principles carry 25 each, which surprises people who expected ethics to be a small closing section. Screening and Assessment takes the remaining 20.
Most free samples test whether you can define tolerance. These test whether you know what to do with a client who is ambivalent, whose collateral contact just disclosed something, or whose treatment plan no longer matches their presentation. The wrong answers are the choices counselors defend in supervision.
Score by domain, not overall, and weight each gap by its share of the exam. The real exam is 150 items of which 125 are scored, reported on a 200 to 800 scale with 500 to pass, so raw counts on a practice set are a rough guide rather than a prediction.
