Free MFT Practice Test (2026)
When you are ready for the full set, the MFT National Exam Prep Bundle ($19.99) picks up where this test stops.
Forty questions, weighted the way the MFT National Exam is weighted, with a written rationale for every single one.
The AMFTRB blueprint is unusually flat. Five of the six domains sit between 16 and 17 percent, and the sixth, Managing Crisis Situations, is 19. There is no domain here you can safely trade away, which is the opposite of how most people plan an exam, and it is the single most useful thing to know before you build a schedule.
Most free samples are ten easy recall questions designed to make you feel ready. These are systemic and clinical, the wrong answers are the moves therapists actually make, and the distractors are drawn from real reasoning errors rather than obvious nonsense.
Score yourself by domain. On a 40 item sample each domain only carries six or seven items, so treat a two point drop as a signal to look rather than a verdict. Read every rationale, including the ones you got right.
