Free NCMHCE Practice Test (2026)
When you are ready for the full set, the NCMHCE Exam Prep Bundle ($19.99) picks up where this test stops.
Forty questions, weighted the way the NCMHCE is weighted, with a written rationale for every single one.
Counseling Skills and Interventions is 30 percent of the current NBCC outline. That is the largest single area by a wide margin, and it is roughly double what most study guides give it, because older material was written against a version of the outline that no longer applies. The distribution here follows the outline in force now.
Most free samples are ten recall questions designed to make you feel ready. This is not that. The items are clinical, the wrong answers are the decisions candidates actually defend in the moment, and reading the rationale for the ones you got right matters as much as reading the ones you missed. A lucky guess and a sound answer look identical on a score sheet.
Score yourself by area rather than overall. If Intake, Assessment and Diagnosis is where you lose points, that area carries 25 percent, so it is worth more of your remaining hours than a weak spot in Treatment Planning at 15.
